HOW TO BOOK
My most preferred way for you to get in contact with me is through the booking form linked below. If you’re not entirely sure what you’re looking for you can leave some sections blank!
I will respond to you on email where we can further discuss your idea and I’ll provide an estimate. For more complex pieces, we can schedule a video consultation.
What to Expect
Booking Process
Reach out to me using my booking form. I will get back to you within a few days and we can discuss your idea further or schedule a consultation if necessary.
I will provide an estimate and request a deposit. Deposits are typically $200, or $50 if the estimate is under $500 and can be paid via Venmo or Zelle.
Once I have received your deposit I will send you a Calendly link to book your appointment. I typically have dates available within a month. As of now, my normal tattooing days are Wednesday through Saturday beginning at 11am. If you need a day that’s not available on the calendar, let me know and I can usually accommodate your schedule.
During Your Appointment
I work in a small private studio in Berkeley. When you arrive, I will show you your design. You are more than welcome to make changes if you’re not 100% in love with it!! We will then place the stencil and can try as many different sizes and placements as necessary. Please don’t worry about creating extra work or taking time during this process – my #1 priority is for you to be satisfied with your tattoo and experience!
During the tattoo, you can look at stuff on your phone, read a book, or we can chat – I don’t have a preference either way :). What I do ask is that you be mindful of your movement (talking, gesturing, even scrolling on a phone can create movement).
Throughout the session please speak up if you need a break to use the bathroom, stretch, or eat something. I have snacks and water in the studio, but if you want something more substantial you can bring food or we can go grab something or order in.
After the tattoo is finished, we will take photos and then I’ll wrap the piece with second skin or saran wrap and we will go over aftercare.
No question is too dumb to ask :). If something’s not covered here, please email me at hello@studioliew.com.
FAQ
-
The majority of my work is custom pieces. I have flash posted on a story highlight on Instagram.
-
Typically I have available dates within a month.
-
I charge per piece rather than hourly so that I don’t feel rushed if something is taking longer than expected. My minimum is $150. Depending on the style and amount of detail, a hand-sized piece might fall between $350-$800. I realize that is a huge range :) if you submit a booking form I will give you an estimate.
-
Yes! I require a deposit to book an appointment. The deposit will usually be $200, or $50 if the estimate for the tattoo is under $500. Deposits are non-refundable (please see reschedule and cancellation policies below!)
-
If you cancel your appointment at any time, you forfeit your deposit. If you reschedule within 5 days of the appointment, the original deposit is forfeited and you will be asked to pay a new deposit.
-
I don't share custom artwork ahead of time. We will look at it together on the day of your appointment and I am happy to make adjustments! If I can't accommodate the changes in a reasonable amount of time, we will reschedule the appointment to a later date. You are always welcome to send me additional references before your appointment :)

Yes! Please do. If they get bored, Fourth St Berkeley (a cute shopping district) is a few minutes away.
-
Please arrive well-rested, fed, and hydrated. Wear comfortable clothing that will allow us easy access to the area you are getting tattooed. You can bring entertainment like a tablet, book, etc. You can bring headphones or connect to the studio speaker to play your music.

Getting tattooed can be mentally and physically draining so it’s important to be well-fed and hydrated! I have snacks and water in the studio but you can bring your own food, or take a break to go grab something or order in. There are a couple restaurants that are walkable, and plenty that are a short drive away.
